CARE GUIDE

Last updated: January 2025

LERT products are built to last, but proper care will ensure they maintain their beauty and functionality for years to come. This guide provides essential care instructions for all our product materials. Following these guidelines will help protect your investment and keep your storage solutions looking their best.

01

GENERAL CARE GUIDELINES

LERT products are designed for durability and longevity with proper care. Dust your shelving regularly with a soft, dry cloth to prevent buildup. Avoid placing hot items directly on surfaces and use coasters or mats for drinks and plants. Keep products away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and warping. Maintain a stable indoor environment with moderate humidity levels.

02

WOOD SURFACES

Our wood surfaces feature a protective finish that enhances durability while showcasing natural wood grain. Clean with a slightly damp cloth followed by a dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a mild soap solution and dry immediately. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and excessive water. Apply wood conditioner every 6-12 months to maintain the finish. Minor scratches can often be buffed out with fine steel wool followed by furniture polish.

03

METAL COMPONENTS

Our metal components are powder-coated for durability and corrosion resistance. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. For stubborn marks, use a mild soap solution and dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive pads or harsh chemicals that could damage the powder coating. Inspect periodically for any chips in the coating and address promptly to prevent rust.

04

LAMINATE SURFACES

Laminate surfaces are highly durable and easy to maintain. Clean with a damp cloth or mild all-purpose cleaner. Avoid abrasive scrubbing pads that can scratch the surface. Do not use bleach or ammonia-based products. Wipe up spills promptly to prevent staining. Laminate is heat-resistant but using trivets for hot items is recommended.

05

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION

Follow the included assembly instructions carefully. Ensure all hardware is tightened securely but do not overtighten. For wall-mounted units, use appropriate anchors for your wall type and ensure the wall can support the weight. Distribute weight evenly across shelves and do not exceed recommended weight limits. Periodically check and retighten hardware connections.

06

WEIGHT CAPACITY

Each shelf has a specific weight capacity listed in the product specifications. Distribute weight evenly across shelves to prevent warping or structural stress. Heavier items should be placed on lower shelves for stability. Do not hang from or apply excessive force to shelving. If you notice any sagging or structural concerns, reduce the load and contact our support team.

07

HUMIDITY & TEMPERATURE

Wood products are sensitive to environmental conditions. Maintain indoor humidity between 35-55% to prevent warping, cracking, or swelling. Avoid placing products near heat sources such as radiators, fireplaces, or heating vents. Air conditioning and heating can reduce humidity, so consider using a humidifier during dry seasons. Allow products to acclimate to your space before assembly.

08

SUNLIGHT EXPOSURE

Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading, discoloration, and damage to wood finishes. Position products away from windows that receive direct sun, or use window treatments to filter UV rays. Rotate items on shelves periodically to ensure even exposure. Some natural color change in wood over time is normal and adds character.

09

MOVING & RELOCATING

When moving products, remove all items from shelves first. For modular systems, disassemble into smaller sections if possible. Protect surfaces with moving blankets or padding. Avoid dragging units across floors. After relocating, check all connections and ensure the unit is level. Allow time for wood to acclimate if moving to a different environment.

10

REPAIR & RESTORATION

For minor scratches on wood, try using a matching wood marker or furniture touch-up pen. Deeper scratches may require professional refinishing. For damaged metal components, contact us about replacement parts. Do not attempt major repairs that could void your warranty. For significant damage, reach out to our support team for guidance on repair options.
